Helen’s Trust was a charity founded in memory of Helen Lyon in 2001. The charity’s aim was to enable more people to have end of life care at home, which it successfully did for nearly 20 years.

In 2020 the Helen’s Trust board of trustees decided to merge with Blythe House Hospicecare, another local charity. The merger led to an expansion of hospice at home care across North Derbyshire enabling equal access for all patients to this invaluable service.

Following a period of consultation the merged charity became known as Blythe House Hospice in 2024.

Whilst the name changed, the ambition to give patients the choice to remain at home at the end of their life did not. The hospice has grown its services and now supports more people at home than ever before.
